How We Sell Matters: Keys to Ethical Marketing with Alice Karolina
Wednesday Sep 28, 2022
Wednesday Sep 28, 2022
As business owners and entrepreneurs, we have the unique opportunity to help break the cycle of consumerism and level the playing field.
We can choose NOT to engage in marketing scare tactics and psychological manipulation. We can empower, inform, and provide respect to our customers and clients by choosing a better path.
Meet Alice Karolina, Founder of The Ethical Move. Alice created The Ethical move because she believes we can break the cycle by changing the way we sell. It starts with educating ourselves and engaging in a different way.
Alice Karolina has studied manipulation in sales in all its forms throughout her life. She seeks to open the door for a transparent, thriving marketplace that works for everyone.
In our conversation, we get into:
- What brought Alice to do the work she does today and how she infuses her work with her branding clients as well
- What leadership means to her
- The three parts of The Ethical Move pledge and how we can apply them to our businesses starting TODAY
- How her 300-day habit practice changed her life
- And more!

What Really Happens When You Show Up and Get Visible
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
In short, visibility is getting your message out there and seen. We often associate it with showing up on social media, attending networking events, and gaining speaking engagements but it can take many different forms.
At the root of visibility is connection. Creating connection with your ideal clients, with your audience, with those you’re collaborating with, and creating connection by remaining consistent.
In this podcast, I'm sharing six lessons I've learned (so far) when it comes to visibility and showing up and how you can apply it for yourself:
- Don't bite off more than you can chew if you want to stay consistent
- Visibility takes time and effort
- You surprise yourself and will be surprised by others when you decide to get visible
- Visibility is a two-way street
- You'll have some hits and some misses
- When you decide to get visible, you're more visible
Visibility is a buzzword in the entrepreneurial space and everyone wants to be visible, but not everyone wants to embrace all the unique gifts, challenges, and realities of deciding to show up.

The Mindset You Need to Launch and Scale with Tasha Booth
Wednesday Sep 14, 2022
Wednesday Sep 14, 2022
The word "launch" means a lot of different things to a lot of different people.
There are all sorts of ways to launch, different sizes of launches, and you could be launching just about anything.
You and I have probably launched lots of things:
> Your business
> A new product or service in your business
> An event
> A workshop
> A collaboration
> A course
> A podcast
> A membership
The list goes on. I won’t.
Launching involves more than meets the eye AND comes with more challenges and unique experiences than you see on that finished sales page.
This is one of the many topics in the entrepreneurial space I want to start opening up the conversation around: Launching, scaling, moving from 1:1 to 1:many. What really happens?
Fortunately, I’ve found a launch PRO who's going to help us see some of the mindset shifts entrepreneurs need to make in order to have a successful launch, as well as what you need to consider long before launching in order to make it fly. We talk about scaling, pivoting to sink into your genius zone, and the reality of running multiple businesses.
Tasha Booth is an agency owner, coach, and podcaster. She is the Founder & CEO of The Launch Guild - a full-service launch support agency working with established coaches and course creators with Course & Podcast Launches. Her team is over 20 members strong and works together to support their clients in being able to focus back on their zones of genius.
Tasha's an Air Force wife to her husband Scott, stepmom to Grace & Meredith, and work-from-home dog mom to Stanly and Boomer. In her spare time, she watches true crime tv, sings karaoke, and tends to her organic vegetable garden.

Success is Peace, a conversation with Kendra Kearney
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
I first heard Kendra's story at the She Built This Summer Gala in June, and I deeply connected with her stories, her why, her definition of success, and her true care and compassion driving her client interactions.
Kendra Kearney is a Financial Advisor at Rise Private Wealth Management who brings a strong sense of purpose to her work!
Growing up, Kendra witnessed as her grandfather, the breadwinner in the family, was the only one who had any interaction with their finances and wealth. He passed away when Kendra was just 17 years old, one year into his retirement. Kendra took her grandmother to her first-ever financial advising meeting and the advisor didn’t even know who Kendra’s grandmother was or what her needs were.
Kendra has made it her mission to help people feel empowered and secure by understanding and participating in their financial journey.
Kendra has worked in financial services since 2004. She loves the emphasis on the client experience at Rise. Kendra loves working with clients who share the same values she does and who have big goals and dreams which she’ll get into more in today’s episode!
In this episode, Kendra shares:
- Her unpopular opinion as a financial advisor
- How she's found success in being herself to set her apart in her industry
- How she's discovered who she loves working with
- What she really wishes everyone knew about money and wealth management
- And more!

What do you really want in your business?
You are in for a treat with today's guest, Kim Dawson, as she helps to guide us to answer the question beneath the questions:
- To niche or not to niche?
- Should I raise my pricing?
- How do I scale my business for growth?
- How do you stand out in a saturated industry?
It all comes back to, "What do you want your business to do for your life?"
Kim Dawson is a results-driven business strategist, consultant, advisor, and occasionally plays the role of management accountant (though her clients often refer to her as their “business coach”).
Using her 20+ years of entrepreneurial experience along with a background in accounting, Kim helps small businesses optimize their pricing and procedures while navigating niche markets and building a team, without cutting into their profitability. After working with Kim, clients often double (and a few tripled) their revenue – all while hiring new team members, doing more of what they enjoy, and gaining their free time back
She shares with us that money is about freedom, choice, independence, and what that might look like for YOU in your own journey to success!
We talk about:
- Misconceptions and myths of scaling
- When to consider increasing your pricing and how to share it with your clients confidently
- How to stand out and reduce your competition
- The difference between a strategist and a coach
- And more!

Your WORDS can make you money.
In a recent sales conversation, I started second-guessing myself and making up stories about what a client was thinking on the other end...
As I reflected on it and how to include words and questions that would lead to greater success next time, I started thinking about how choosing the right words, in so many instances can make us money and grow our businesses.
In this episode, I get into:
- Why not to write the story of your client's pockets
- Why to detach from the outcome of a particular project and client
- Why to choose the words you say about yourself carefully
- How to re-think the value you're offering in your product or service
- A question to include in your next sales conversation that can give you a lot of insight and guide the process forward
- How your content can make you money and how to lay it out in a way that increases your know, like, and trust factor
- How your words on networking calls and coffee chats can be a tool for connection
- And how the various words we use in our businesses can be a powerful tool to move us forward, or hold us back
